Woking Sports Box

Woking Sports Box is a new state of the art sports and leisure facility for the Woking Borough Council and run by Freedom Leisure

The facility includes an 80 station gym, 2 fitness studios, multi-functional sports hall, grass and 3G pitches, 400m athletics track and café.

The project in Egley Road is the only gym located in Woking to offer full TechnoGym Wellness System facilities. The gym will cater for all ability levels including wheelchair accessible bikes, seated cross trainers and Olympic lifting platforms.

Freedom Leisure General Manager Geo Castro said: “Woking Sportsbox is a high end yet affordable leisure facility for the whole of the Woking community. We will have state-of-the-art TechnoGym and Octane kit in our gym, but while it will be top of the range it will also be inclusive!”

The development of the project included the use of VR (Virtual Reality) and AR (Augmented Reality) to aid the design process and give project stakeholders a sense of the spaces they would be getting. The use of VR was particularly helpful in reducing the likelihood of misunderstanding proposals which can often lead to problems.

Woking Sports Box is built adjacent to our Hoe Valley School project on Egley Road on Woking’s Green Belt.
