The Architecture for Schools and Education Buildings webinar is being hosted by the RIBA Journal and will aim to cover the latest products and materials and explore how collaboration between architects, consultants, and manufacturers are helping create better designed, inspiring, sustainable, and future-proof schools and education buildings.
Featured speakers include:
- Zane Putne, SEND director, Noviun Architects, who will join us to provide advice and recommendations, providing insights from multiple case studies, on SEND school design and inclusion for all.
- Jan Kattein, director, Jan Kattein Architects, who will join us to deliver a presentation on The Paper Garden. With an uncompromising focus on re-use, the project sets a precedent for sustainable construction. It includes a garden and an educational community building, from which educational and leadership opportunities are offered to young people.
- Wayne Head, director, Curl la Tourelle Head Architecture, who will join us to deliver a presentation on Alfreton Park Community Special School. A special educational needs and disabilities all-through school, the site part of a campus-like family of nurturing buildings, within a park setting, with design decisions connecting pupils to nature.
- Mandy Franz, associate director, MICA Architects, who will join us to deliver a presentation on Cheng Yu Tung Building. The project provides important new accommodation to Jesus College, a scheme that is active and open to the public realm. New teaching facilities, new accommodation for students, new convening and communal space.
