Vanbrugh House Named an SBID Awards 2026 Finalist
We are delighted to announce that our Vanbrugh House project for Gleeds in Southampton has been selected as an SBID Awards 2026 finalist.
The project has been shortlisted in the Workplace Fit Out Project of the Year category at the SBID International Design Awards, recognising its approach to inclusive, flexible and sustainable workplace design.
An inclusive workplace for Gleeds
Noviun were appointed to refurbish Gleeds’ existing Southampton office to accommodate its growing team and provide a greater variety of working environments.
The design caters for different working styles and the needs of neurodivergent users, while also increasing the capacity of the existing boardroom. The aim was to move away from the traditional corporate office and create a calm, nurturing and sophisticated workplace where everyone can thrive.
A mixture of working settings gives employees greater choice over how and where they work throughout the day. Collaborative spaces are balanced with quieter areas for focused work, helping to create a flexible office that supports both individual wellbeing and team productivity.
A considered approach to colour and materials
Sustainable finishes and textures inspired by workwear seams, weaves and textiles feature throughout the scheme. These elements give the office its own identity while reflecting the everyday experience of work.
The colour palette was developed using principles of colour psychology. Warm, natural tones help create a calm and welcoming atmosphere, complemented by stronger accents that give definition and character to the different spaces.
The result is an inclusive and timeless workplace designed to support Gleeds and its Southampton team as they continue to grow.
