Carew Academy

The proposal is for the construction of a new purpose built facility to cater for 246 students aged 5 to 19 with a wide range of learning difficulties, some of which are complex and may include Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and / or moderate learning difficulties (MLD). The vision is to provide modern spaces which enable OHCAT to continue to deliver an excellent educational experience in an environment where the students can flourish and
reach their full potential. The new school will have teaching spaces for primary, secondary and sixth form.

Carew Academy – Massing Strategy

The school’s key objective is to create a suitable learning environment for pupils with special educational needs to replace the existing accommodation of Carew Academy, which is currently housed in a Grade II listed building with minimal opportunities to expand and has accessibility issues.
