Fulham Cross Academy

Fulham Cross Academy (FCA) is a secondary school with sixth form, with a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) curriculum focus, catering for students aged 11 to 19 years. The school has a capacity for 800 pupils. The key design drivers for the proposed landscape works are the seamless integration of the new building into the existing site, whilst enhancing the sports provision, social areas and biodiversity and meeting requirements for planning.

Fulham Cross Academy

Students are taught to be innovative and find solutions to real life challenges, which are authentic, applicable
and actionable, allowing them to flourish beyond the school environment. The schools commitment to STEM learning transforms conventional education whilst boosting confidence and employability.

To achieve the targets set by the curriculum, FCA should be supported by educational facilities that match the ambition of both students and staff. Currently, significant parts of the existing school estate have been identified as being in ‘poor condition’ by extensive building surveys. On this basis, the decision was taken by the DfE (Department for Education) to include Fulham Cross Academy in the School Rebuilding Programme, to provide a scheme that replaces and refurbishes buildings based on conditions need.
