The London Borough of Bexley has commissioned Noviun Architects to produce a viability study for a sheltered accommodation scheme in Slade Green for Bexley Co.
The corner site located between the Slade Green Medical Centre and Christian Fellowship Church, containing a vacant warehouse and a house, which will be demolished to provide the new accommodation.
The proposal provides 26 units in total containing 2 bed 4 person units, 3 Bed 6 person units and 3 bed 5 person accessible units over 3 floors. Some of these units are designed to accommodate families and others are designed for shared use.
In addition to the above, each floor contains a communal area that could be used for consolation purposes or other communal aspects. The main office area with associated welfare facilities is centrally located.
The scheme also provides plant, bicycle parking, refuse storage and parking with 10% wheelchair accessible spaces.
The scheme will address the growing need for temporary accommodation for people in the area until permanent housing is sought by the Council.
