CONSTRUCTION STAGE

PROCESS

Our vision

We harness the skills and experience of our architects and our team of technologists throughout the design and information stages and construction phase.

We believe in cultivating a close and collaborative working environment with all parties in the design and construction process. In many current procurement models, the contractor has become our client and the project focus. We embrace this as part of the future.

The ‘getting it right first time’ approach to design demands a specialist knowledge in the sectors in which we work. We take an evidence-based approach to designs built, and draw from previous lessons learned, whether past successes or failures. We work hard to instil a team approach given the often very pressurised project timescales.

This requires working closely with all client and regulatory parties and harnessing our knowledge of standards and regulations alongside our experience of converting a brief into a workable and cost-effective design solution.

Our involvement with Chichester Free School illustrates the essence of team working, ensuring a compliant design alongside the construction phasing and engineering challenges, in this instance combining a major new-build component with the re-use of an historic building.

Early use of technology in the form of ‘point-cloud’ surveys and BIM from day one enables exacting programmes for both the concluding design stages and the on-site phasing to be met.
