As part of our ongoing rebuild of the new Katharine Lady Berkeley’s School, we were delighted to attend the careers evening to showcase the work going into the new school building.
The event received strong backing from local businesses and educational institutions, including training providers, colleges, and universities. The primary objective of the evening is to offer students a wide spectrum of career and advanced education options to consider. Furthermore, it affords both students and their parents the opportunity to engage in direct conversations with employers regarding the qualifications and skills highly sought after in the professional world.
Katharine Lady Berkeley’s School has a long history as the oldest state secondary school in the country, having been founded in 1384 when Katharine Lady Berkeley set up a school in Wotton-under-Edge, with one master and two students. Since then, the school has come a long way and is now a highly successful 11-18 mixed comprehensive school of over 1500 students.
Director Alastair Mallett and Associate Fiona Rogoff were both in attendance for Noviun to discuss the transformation happening at Katharine Lady Berkeley’s School. The scheme comprises a mix of new build and refurbishment elements, as well as extensive improvements to the hard and soft landscaping, to meet the future needs and vision of the school, whilst also helping meet the Government’s net zero target.
Noviun are working with Kier to design and deliver a new three-storey teaching block housing a new main hall and black-box drama studio, as well as the School’s DT, Modern Foreign Languages and Maths departments.
To keep up to date with the re-build, the school have a dedicated page on their website to view all the latest updates.
