Our First Year as Noviun Architects

Noviun launched this time last year at our event held at the Tate Modern in London.

In the last year we have continued to work on a number of major projects, including being selected to deliver both Mayfield School in Portsmouth and Barton Court School in Canterbury.

Mayfield School is a replacement school building for the existing building and it’s 1,510 pupils and will be an All-Through school catering for Pupils from Nursery to Secondary ages.

Barton Court School will cater for pupils aged between 11 and 19 years and will replace the former Chaucer Technology School that has remained derelict on the current site.

The practice has also won a succession of awards this year.

In July our Chichester Free School project was awarded a ‘High Commendation’ by the Sussex Heritage Trust whilst also being shortlisted for a Project of the Year award at the Education Estates Awards.

Chichester Free School was also awarded ‘Best Educational New Build’ at the SPACES Awards recently.

Our West Thornton Primary Academy – Canterbury Hub project was given the award for Inspiring Learning Spaces at the same awards ceremony in October.

Finally, in July this year we were awarded ‘Architectural Practice of the Year’ at the South Coast Property Awards.

This was a prestigious award recognising our promotion of a young generation of Architects and our continued work to embrace new technologies.

It has been a fantastic first year as Noviun Architects and we look forward to continuing our successes in 2020.
