Noviun mentoring future architects

Noviun are delighted to be taking part in the RIBA Future Architects student mentoring scheme, mentoring students from both Brighton, Portsmouth and Kent Universities.

Architect Director Mangala Ratnayake, Associate Lucinda Colegate and Senior Architect Zane Putne will all be mentoring students as part of the RIBA Future Architects which was the former ‘RIBA Mentoring Scheme‘.

Mangala Ratnayake will be mentoring students from Brighton University, Lucinda Colegate will mentor students from the University of Portsmouth and Zane will mentor students from the University of Kent.

This year all mentoring sessions will run online, allowing mentors to work with multiple students where they can.

As mentors the practice is expected to:

  • Introduce students to the realities of practice, so that they’re well-prepared for their year out
  • Help them to think about their future career direction
  • Give mentored students support and guidance from someone more experienced

The programme is run in partnership with Schools of Architecture.

As part of the RIBA Future Architects scheme, around 40 schools across England and Wales are taking part and covers subjects such as:

  • Practice Operation
  • A Completed Project
  • Follow-through of a Live Project

Plus the opportunity to support mentored students in their portfolio and CV writing.

Noviun mentoring future architects is very much part of who we are as a practice. We aim to help mentor future architects so that they can one day help create better buildings for us all.
