Sheathing and Windows are currently being installed on this co-educational SEN school for 150 pupils aged between 2-19 predominantly with a wide range of learning difficulties some of which with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or moderate learning difficulties.
Addington Valley Site Progress
The project responds to the increasing demand for SEN pupils spaces within the Borough, reducing the pressure on existing mainstream schools to take on SEN pupils and reducing the need for primary aged pupils with special needs to travel to neighboring areas to attend school.
Addington Valley Academy is another project within our specialist SEN area and follows on from our latest SEN project, the Austen Academy in Basingstoke.
Construction on the courtyard is progressing well. The steel structure is almost completely sprayed whilst the roof installation is well underway.

Many mainstream and special needs schools have been forced to close during the Covid-19 pandemic which has caused untold problems for students, staff and parents. What is clearly apparent is the key role schools can play by providing protective environments for the most vulnerable children and continuous education for mainstream pupils. Maintaining schools operational must be a top priority going forward as they also allow parents to keep working, which in turn can help mitigate the economic impact of a pandemic.
